The community is invited to join a fun-filled, family-friendly Easter celebration on Saturday, April 19, hosted by the City of Sanibel’s 50th Anniversary Workgroup and the Sanibel Recreation Center.
Taking place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sanibel Ball Fields (located at 3880 Sanibel-Captiva Road), the event is free and open to the public, with gates opening at 9:30 a.m. Attendees can look forward to a festive morning featuring:

A large-scale egg hunt

A visit from the Easter Bunny

Games, crafts, and activities

An Easter Bonnet and Hat Contest

Community engagement booths and giveaways
Egg Hunt Schedule
To ensure a fun experience for all ages, the egg hunt will be divided into age groups:

Ages 4 and under: 10:15 a.m.
-
Grades K–3: 10:30 a.m.
-
Grades 4–8: 10:45 a.m.
More than 5,000 prize-filled foam eggs will be hidden across the fields, including surprises like candy, toys, gold coins, dollar coins, and over 500 gift cards. Each age group will also have a chance to find five chocolate bunnies and one Easter basket as bonus prizes.
Adding a unique twist, the Sanibel Fire and Rescue District will drop eggs from four stories up during the K–3 and 4–8 age group hunts.

Contest: Great Egg Head Start
Families can enter the Great Egg Head Start Contest for a chance to win a 30-second head start in their child’s egg hunt group. To enter:
