A new initiative is inviting nature lovers and visitors to explore the rich ecological and educational offerings of Sanibel Island. The Sanibel Wild Mile Passport is now available through a collaborative effort between the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium, Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW), “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge, Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF), and the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB).
This partnership aims to showcase Sanibel’s natural beauty and wildlife by encouraging the public to visit participating locations. Each site offers unique experiences through trails, exhibits, and educational opportunities.
Visitors can download the free digital passport to their mobile phones by visiting:

No app installation is necessary.
The passport allows users to check in at 16 participating Wild Mile locations, and those who do can earn rewards and prizes as they explore.
This is a great way to engage with Sanibel’s conservation efforts, support local educational institutions, and enjoy the island’s natural surroundings.
