The SanCap Chamber is thrilled to announce a milestone achievement – hosting their 100th ribbon-cutting ceremony since Hurricane Ian! This celebratory event marks the resilience of our community and the exciting return of beloved businesses alongside the arrival of new ones.
On June 25th, the chamber held a ceremony to welcome back the VCA Sanibel Animal Hospital. This vital service for pet owners on the island is now operational once again, providing much-needed convenience and peace of mind.
“The return of pet care facilities is a giant step towards restoring a sustainable way-of-life for our island residents and visitors,” said Chamber President and CEO John Lai. “We’re delighted to welcome such a professional and state-of-the-art operation to our community.”
Continuing the positive momentum, the chamber hosted another ribbon-cutting on June 28th to celebrate the grand opening of Captiva Curio Cottage. This charming new shop, located at 1037 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, offers a unique selection of products, including:
- All-natural beauty products
- Holistic and metaphysical items
- Pet goods
- Educational and entertaining toys
- Clothing and accessories
- Cards and books
- Coffees, teas, and tinctures
Owned and operated by the Suarez family, Captiva Curio Cottage reflects their love for nature, animals, and family. Their aim is to provide a welcoming and distinctive shopping experience for both residents and visitors.
“We believe life should be simple, fun, quirky, and fabulous,” shared the Suarez family. “This philosophy is reflected in every aspect of our shop.”
John Lai echoed this sentiment, stating, “Captiva Curio Cottage perfectly complements our reputation for fostering unique, independent small businesses on the islands.”
The SanCap Chamber extends a warm welcome to both the VCA Sanibel Animal Hospital and Captiva Curio Cottage. Their presence is a testament to the strength and spirit of our island community.
