As of October 18th, the city of Sanibel has shared an update on the ongoing efforts by Public Works crews to reopen beach parking lots following the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.
Currently, the following beach parks are now open to the public:
- Tarpon Bay Road Beach (Trost Lot)
- Gulfside City Park (Algiers)
- Bowman’s Beach Park
While these areas are accessible, visitors are advised to use caution, as debris may still be hidden beneath the sand.
However, the following beach parking lots remain closed as crews work to clear sand and debris:
- Lighthouse Beach Park (Bayside and Gulfside)
- Blind Pass
- Turner Beach
The city will continue to update the public as more beach parking lots become available. Stay tuned for further announcements.
