The Generosity Breakfast is officially returning to Sanibel Island this November. Hosted by the Charitable Foundation of the Islands (CFI), this highly anticipated event honors National Philanthropy Day.
Following its successful debut last year, the Generosity Breakfast serves as a poignant reminder of our community’s resilience. It celebrates the extraordinary spirit of giving that makes Sanibel and Captiva so unique.
Every single contribution of time, talent, and treasure is vital to the ongoing strength of the coastal community.
The 2026 Generosity Breakfast Theme: You Matter More Than You Know
This year, the Charitable Foundation of the Islands has adopted a profoundly moving theme for the Generosity Breakfast. The theme is “You Matter More Than You Know: One Person, One Community.”
Savannah Kelly, the CFI Director of Community Engagement, noted the inspiration behind this choice. The powerful message was heavily inspired by author Jennifer Wallace’s book, Mattering: The Secret to a Life of Deep Connection and Purpose.
For residents of Southwest Florida, this concept of belonging resonates deeply. During the difficult years following Hurricane Ian, the community witnessed firsthand what it truly meant to show up for one another. People gave whatever they could to help the islands recover.

Inspiring Speakers at the Generosity Breakfast
To bring the theme to life, the Generosity Breakfast will feature a keynote address by Lynne Wester. She is a nationally recognized philanthropist who works extensively with nonprofit charitable organizations across the country.
Following Hurricane Ian, CFI Executive Director Dolly Farrell reached out to Wester. The two originally connected through Florida Gulf Coast University.
Wester quickly stepped in to provide critical resources. She formulated strategic lists and made vital introductions to help the island’s recovery efforts.
Her keynote speech at the Generosity Breakfast will make a compelling case for local engagement. She will emphasize that a community is built by one person and one moment of genuine caring at a time.
Champion Awards Presented at the Generosity Breakfast
Beyond the keynote, the Generosity Breakfast will honor local leaders with the Generosity Champion Awards. These prestigious honors highlight those who have made a lasting difference.
Two Junonia Awards will be given for extraordinary generosity that has resulted in a permanent, positive difference across the community.
Additionally, the Bridge Builder Award will go to a visionary who strengthens regional connections. Finally, the Lighthouse Keeper Award will honor dedicated, steady leadership through turbulent times.
Securing Your Tickets for the Generosity Breakfast
The Generosity Breakfast is scheduled for Monday, November 16, 2026, at the beautiful Sundial Beach Resort & Spa. The morning kicks off with a breakfast buffet at 8:00 a.m., followed by the program from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Individual tickets are priced at $225, while a full table of eight can be secured for $2,000. With last year’s event attracting roughly 200 attendees, seats are selling fast, with only about 15 tickets remaining.
You can purchase your seats directly through the official Generosity Breakfast ticket portal.
The 2026 Spirit of Generosity Co-Chairs, Sam Boren and Steve King, have completely underwritten the cost of the event. Because of their incredible contribution, 100% of all ticket proceeds go directly to the CFI Community Impact Fund.
