The Sanibel Rotary Arts & Crafts Festival returns for its 43rd year on February 14th and 15th, 2026, transforming the heart of the island into a world-class outdoor gallery. As the primary fundraiser for the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club, this event has evolved from a small local gathering into one of the most prestigious juried art shows in the country.
For residents and visitors alike, the festival is the pinnacle of the winter season. The LeAne SUAREZ Group is proud to provide this local expert update on what to expect during this milestone weekend.
A Showcase of Elite Juried Artists
The 2026 festival will feature more than 100 top-tier artists and crafters from across the nation. Because this is a juried show, the quality of work is exceptionally high, drawing sophisticated collectors and art enthusiasts to the Sanibel Community House grounds.
Attendees can browse a diverse array of mediums, including:
-
Fine Art: Stunning oil and acrylic paintings, intricate photography, and mixed media.
-
3D Masterpieces: Hand-blown glass, metal sculptures, and custom wood furniture.
-
Wearable Art: Artisan jewelry and unique textile designs.
Exhibitors will be competing for the prestigious Ikki Matsumoto “Best of Show” Award, along with cash prizes in categories such as 2-D art, 3-D art, and creative crafts.
The Iconic Silent Auction & Philanthropy
Inside the Sanibel Community House, the famous Silent Auction remains a major draw. With over 200 items donated by festival artists and local businesses, it is the largest collection in the event’s history. Bidders can find everything from original artwork and vacation certificates to luxury dining experiences.
The true impact of the Sanibel Rotary Arts & Crafts Festival lies in its mission. Every dollar raised supports local, regional, and global humanitarian projects.
-
Local Support: Grants for organizations like FISH of SanCap and the Children’s Education Center of the Islands.
-
Regional Relief: Vital funding for hurricane recovery and environmental protection through the Calusa Waterkeepers.
-
Global Reach: Contributions toward the eradication of Polio and clean water initiatives worldwide.
2026 Commemorative Art: The “Pink Flamingo”
A cherished tradition of the festival is the commemorative T-shirt featuring designs by the late island icon, Ikki Matsumoto. For the 43rd anniversary, the club is featuring the “Pink Flamingo” design. These shirts, available in various styles, serve as a beautiful reminder of the island’s artistic heritage and the community’s resilience.
Event Schedule & Logistics
The festival is held at the Sanibel Community House (2173 Periwinkle Way) and the adjacent Sanibel Community Playground.
-
Saturday, February 14: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
-
Sunday, February 15: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Local Expert Tip: While entry is free, a small donation is requested at the gate to support the Rotary’s charitable works. To avoid the heaviest traffic on Periwinkle Way, we recommend arriving early—specifically for the 9:00 a.m. opening on Sunday.
Parking & Access: Drivers will be directed to free parking areas near the event. Given that this is Valentine’s Day weekend and the height of the tourist season, the LeAne SUAREZ Group suggests utilizing the island’s shared-use paths (bike paths) if you are staying locally to enjoy a scenic, stress-free commute to the festival grounds.
