Bunche Beach Closure March 2026: What You Need to Know

The Bunche Beach closure March 2026 is scheduled to run from March 9 through March 13. During this five-day window, the roadway south of the main parking lot and the primary beach access points will be strictly closed to both vehicles and pedestrians. Barriers will be positioned to ensure safety while crews finalize these critical drainage repairs.

As your local real estate experts, the LeAne SUAREZ Group advocates for these necessary improvements. Maintaining proper drainage is vital for the long-term resilience of our coastal properties and public preserves, ensuring they remain beautiful and accessible for years to come.

What Remains Open at the Preserve?

While the direct beach access is paused, many of the preserve’s most popular amenities will remain fully operational. If you are planning a visit, you can still utilize:

  • The Main Parking Lot: Available for those wishing to visit the inland portions of the preserve.

  • Restroom Facilities: Fully accessible throughout the project.

  • Kayak & Paddleboard Launches: Great news for paddlers—the launches remain open, allowing you to explore the Great Calusa Blueway as usual.

Planning Your Visit and Safety Precautions

The county encourages all visitors to exercise caution and strictly follow posted signage during the Bunche Beach closure March 2026. Please keep in mind that this project is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. For the most real-time updates, we recommend monitoring the Lee County Parks & Recreation social media channels.

Explore Alternate Beach Sites

If your heart was set on a beach day, Lee County offers several stunning alternatives nearby. Consider visiting:

  • Lynn Hall Memorial Park: Located at the heart of Fort Myers Beach.

  • Bowditch Point Park: A serene 17-acre park at the northern tip of Estero Island.

  • Sanibel Island Beaches: Just a short drive across the causeway from the preserve.

Local Expert Note: While you’re exploring our local parks, don’t forget to check out the Parks, Points & Perks digital pass. It’s a free program running through May that allows you to earn rewards just for visiting over 30 of our beautiful local spots!
