Sanibel Recreation Center Events March 2026

The Sanibel Recreation Center events March 2026 calendar highlights the diversity of our community, offering everything from youth sports to senior social hours. As your local experts at the LeAne SUAREZ Group, we know that these programs are essential to the vibrant, active lifestyle that makes Sanibel such a sought-after location for families and retirees alike.

Upcoming Highlights: March 14 – March 20

If you are looking to stay active and informed this week, here are the key programs requiring your attention:

  • Today, March 14 | Reduce Your Waste Size Series (10 – 11 a.m.): Join Sanibel Chief Resilience Officer Ashlee Painter for a workshop on Trash & Recycling. You’ll learn the “Five R’s” to help protect our island’s delicate ecosystem. Cost: Free (Registration Required).

  • March 16 – 20 | Spring Break Camp (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.): Perfect for grades K-8, this week-long camp features arts, crafts, sports, and swimming. Cost: $135 Members / $170 Non-members.

  • March 17 | Get to Know Your Island (Noon): This speaker series highlights the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium, connecting you with the organizations that make Sanibel unique. Cost: Free (Registration Required).

  • March 17 | Red Sox vs. Braves (1:05 p.m.): Catch some Spring Training action at JetBlue Park! A shuttle van departs at 11 a.m. Cost: $43 Members / $53 Non-members (Section 200).

  • March 18 | The Art of Breathing (10:45 a.m. – Noon): Join Kim Muncil for a session dedicated to mindfulness and breathwork. Cost: $25 Members / $30 Non-members.

Ongoing Programs & Senior Socials

The center continues its partnership with the SanCap Chamber to host the Sanibel Play & Pour Cafe. Designed for ages 65 and older, this “mind-active” social hour features the new Sanibel board game, puzzles, and trivia. It’s a wonderful way to foster friendships in a relaxed, coffee-house atmosphere.

Volunteer & Community Impact

The Recreation Center has moved its volunteer coordination to the POINT platform. This is a great time to get involved with upcoming seasonal events, such as:

  • Great Spring Egg Hunt: Volunteers are currently needed for egg stuffing and event assistance.

  • Shared Use Path Survey: Help the city gather data to improve our world-famous biking and walking paths.

Local Expert Note: Beyond the events, the Rec Center is your go-to spot for Beach Parking Permits. With the spring season in full swing, ensuring your permit is up to date is essential for easy access to our world-class shorelines.
