Getting ready for the upcoming school year just became significantly more affordable across the Sunshine State. Running now through August 20, 2026, Florida’s annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday allows shoppers to skip state sales tax on a wide variety of essential classroom supplies, apparel, learning tools, and personal computers.
At the LeAneSuarezGroup, we know that managing family budgets is a top priority for our residents across Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach, and the greater Southwest Florida region. Taking full advantage of tax-free shopping windows is a great way to stretch your dollars while getting local students completely equipped for academic success.
“Florida’s small businesses always need our support, and the back-to-school sales tax holiday is a great opportunity to shop local and help strengthen Florida’s economy directly. At a time when small businesses are managing high inflationary pressures and various workforce challenges, it’s crucial that our local communities shop small and support Florida’s Main Street.”
— Bill Herrle, NFIB Florida Executive Director

-
Location Restrictions Apply: The sales tax exemption does not apply to qualifying items purchased within a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment, or airport terminal.
-
Personal Use Only: Computer exemptions apply solely to personal, noncommercial home use and cannot be claimed for trade or business operations.
