The Power of Thank You: “Love Sanibel Back” Campaign Launches Gratitude Week

The sweeping summer movement dedicated to uplifting our barrier island community is moving into its next meaningful chapter. Running from June 29 through July 5, 2026, the popular neighborhood rally enters Week 5 under the powerful theme of “Gratitude Week”.

Residents and visitors alike are being warmly invited to pause, reflect, and explicitly express appreciation for the hardworking people who help make daily island life possible.

At the LeAneSuarezGroup, we know that the true magic of Sanibel Island isn’t just our world-class shelling or pristine beaches—it is the dedicated network of workers, business owners, and volunteers who show up every day to keep our paradise running smoothly. Taking a moment to honor their effort keeps our island spirit thriving through the quiet summer months.

In a nutshell: Week 5 of the “Love Sanibel Back” initiative challenges the community to write and deliver thank-you notes to impactful island workers from June 29 to July 5. Participants can also share gratitude stories using #LoveSanibelBack and leave positive digital reviews for their favorite employees.

The Week 5 Challenge: Deliver a Note, Spread Joy

Participating in Gratitude Week is incredibly simple, highly personal, and entirely free.

  • The Main Objective: Write a heartfelt, handwritten thank-you note and hand-deliver it to an island worker, employee, volunteer, business owner, or organization that has made a positive impact on your life or the wider community.

  • Business Spotlights: In tandem with resident notes, local island businesses will be heavily spotlighting their own dedicated team members all week long by creating special internal appreciation posts.

  • Leave Digital Praise: You can also take two minutes to write a glowing online review explicitly naming a local business or exceptional employee who went above and beyond for you.

  • Share Your Story: Take to social media to broadcast your appreciation by sharing a positive story, shout-out, or photo using the official hashtag #LoveSanibelBack.

A Multi-Partner Coalition Built on Local Pride

Running consistently through the end of August, the overall Love Sanibel Back campaign operates under the overarching 2026 roadmap of “Buy Local — Spread Joy — Give Back”.

The extensive, community-wide initiative currently features a massive network of approximately 75 participating island businesses and localized partners. The entire summer campaign is hosted by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, working in direct municipal lockstep with the City of Sanibel and the SanCap Chamber, alongside dedicated financial backing from regional sponsors.
