Welcome to Summer: “Love Sanibel Back” Campaign Enters Week 2

Themed “Welcome to Summer,” this week’s activation shifts focus toward sharing the unique flavor, warmth, and hospitality of our barrier island with others as the summer season begins.

At the LeAneSuarezGroup, we believe that our phenomenal local restaurants, boutique retail shops, and cafes are what give Sanibel its unforgettable, tight-knit character. Participating in this campaign is a fantastic, simple way for residents and vacationers alike to make a direct, positive impact on our island home.

In a nutshell: Week 2 of the “Love Sanibel Back” campaign challenges everyone to visit a beloved local spot and bring a friend along. Support island merchants by leaving a review and sharing a photo with #LoveSanibelBack.

The Week 2 Challenge: Bring a Friend along

The baseline challenge for the week of June 8–14 is incredibly straightforward but carries a massive impact for local storefronts: Visit an island spot you love and bring a friend along to experience it with you.

Whether it’s your go-to morning coffee shop, a hidden-gem lunch cafe, a favorite clothing boutique, or a scenic local attraction, introducing someone new to the business or treating a friend helps drive critical off-season foot traffic to island merchants.

How to Participate and Amplify the Impact

To maximize the reach of the campaign, organizers are asking participants to take three simple digital steps during their outings:

  • Bring a Guest: Share an island experience by inviting a friend, neighbor, or family member to join your outing.

  • Write a Digital Review: Take two minutes to drop a glowing, positive review on major platforms like Google, Tripadvisor, and Yelp. Online reviews are highly critical for guiding summer tourists to open businesses.

  • Share the Joy Socially: Snap a quick photo or selfie during your visit and upload it to your social media channels using the official community hashtag #LoveSanibelBack.

About the “Love Sanibel Back” Initiative

Conceived as a sweeping community-wide rally point, the overarching campaign will continue running now through August. The entire initiative is structurally built around three simple, powerful pillars: “Buy Local — Spread Joy — Give Back.”

The program is proudly presented by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in close collaboration with a dedicated network of local community partners. For a complete look at upcoming weekly themes, partner directories, or digital resources, you can explore the official Love Sanibel Back Campaign Linktree.

Grab a friend, head down Periwinkle Way, and let’s show our local businesses just how much they mean to this island!
