South Fort Myers is about to get its soul back. After a 14-month absence that left a distinct void in the local dining and live entertainment scene, owners Marc and Sherri Neely have announced the official return of the legendary Roadhouse Café.
Scheduled to open its doors in mid-October 2026, the new evolution—dubbed “Roadhouse 2.0″—will welcome back guests at a brand-new, expanded location inside Miners Plaza (15501 Old McGregor Boulevard).
At the LeAneSuarezGroup, we know that exceptional dining and nightlife options are a primary driver for luxury residential demand in the south Fort Myers and Iona corridors. When a beloved local institution like the Roadhouse Café mounts a grand comeback, it brings back the sophisticated, community-centric lifestyle value that our neighborhood homeowners cherish.
The Big Picture: After closing their original doors in April 2025, the owners are executing a total buildout of a 6,939-square-foot space. The new venue expands the lounge experience while guaranteeing the return of the original kitchen staff, the classic menu, and the upscale Manhattan-style jazz vibe.
Inside Roadhouse 2.0: Bigger Space, Same Classic Vibe
The new Miners Plaza location represents a significant structural upgrade from the original venue. The massive 6,939-square-foot footprint is currently undergoing a top-to-bottom interior buildout handled by the premier commercial builders at Stevens Construction.
While the physical environment is completely new, the core layout has been strategically upscaled to fix previous space constraints while preserving the intimate mood of a hidden New York jazz club:
ROADHOUSE 2.0 PHYSICAL UPGRADES
[ THE WATERING HOLE ] ──► Expanded 24-seat bar area for casual dining & premium cocktails.
[ THE SHOW FLOOR ] ──► A significantly larger dance floor directly facing the live stage.
[ THE ENGINE ROOM ] ──► A brand-new, modern kitchen built to optimize service speeds.
Preserving the Legacy: The Food, The Staff, & The Music
For long-term fans of the venue, the best news is what isn’t changing. Marc and Sherri Neely have prioritized continuity, ensuring that the elements that defined the establishment’s 14-month hiatus remain perfectly intact.
-
The Menu: The kitchen will once again serve up their signature premium 28-day aged steaks, alongside exceptionally fresh, daily-caught seafood and upscale American favorites.
-
The Team: The venue has successfully re-hired its original, beloved front-of-house service staff and core culinary crew, ensuring the same high-tier hospitality guests remember.
-
The Entertainment: Live music remains the beating heart of the concept. The new stage will host a weekly rotation of top-tier local and national jazz artists, swing bands, and vocalists, providing a sophisticated backdrop for date nights and neighborhood celebrations.
The countdown is officially on for the mid-October grand opening. Keep your eyes on the Miners Plaza corridor, dust off your dancing shoes, and prepare for the triumphant return of the finest jazz steakhouse in Lee County!
