Independence Day on Sanibel Island is an experience like no other. From historic morning parades down palm-lined avenues to dazzling bayside fireworks at dusk, our sanctuary island pulls out all the stops to celebrate the red, white, and blue.

At the LeAneSuarezGroup, we want to ensure you don’t miss a single moment of the holiday action. We have put together the definitive timeline of community celebrations, family festivals, and prime viewing locations to help you map out the perfect July 4th!

Morning: Kick Off the Celebrations

  [ 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM ] ──► Sanibel Community Church Pancake Breakfast
  [ 9:30 AM ]           ──► Sanibel Independence Day Parade (Roads close at 9:00 AM!)

Sanibel Community Church Pancake Breakfast

  • Time: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

  • Location: 1740 Periwinkle Way

  • The Details: Fuel up for a jam-packed day by referencing the flyer 730653419_18100090502143198_5665609726084827415_n.jpg. Stop by for a classic island pancake breakfast before the parade crowds roll in!

Sanibel Independence Day Parade

  • Time: 9:30 AM Start

  • Location: Begins at Island Inn Road, traveling along Periwinkle Way to Casa Ybel Road.

Pro-Tip: Plan to be in your viewing spot well before 9:00 AM, as local police will begin closing down connecting roads right at 9:00 AM.

Mid-Day: Family Fun, Festivals & Scavenger Hunts

Jerry’s 4th of July Celebration

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • Location: Jerry’s Foods Parking Lot (1700 Periwinkle Way)

Stars, Stripes & Sanibel Community Celebration

  • Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • Location: Sanibel Recreation Center (3880 Sanibel-Captiva Road)

  • The Details: The recreation center is hosting a massive pool and field party. Highlighted in 729729222_18100090547143198_3325147987921603387_n.jpg, families can enjoy music, swimming, inflatables, a pie-baking contest, crafts, and the famous annual water balloon battle matching residents against the Sanibel Fire District!

46th Annual Fourth of July Road Rally

  • Time: 12:00 PM (Noon) Start

  • Location: Begins at The Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market (703 Tarpon Bay Road)

  • The Details: A legendary island tradition! As outlined in 721466050_18100090535143198_5658275628263770171_n.jpg, teams will set out on an island-wide visual scavenger hunt to solve clever clues and answer riddles along the route.

Late Afternoon & Evening: Music, BBQ & Fireworks

July 4th Jazz Concert

  • Time: 4:00 PM Start

  • Location: Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ (2050 Periwinkle Way)

Fourth of July BBQ Buffet

  • Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

  • Location: The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club (949 Sand Castle Road)

Red, White & Boom Fireworks
